2 1/2 cups plain flour

1 tsp baking powder

2 tsp baking soda

3 tsp cinnamon

1 cup sultanas, raisins or golden raisins

1/2 cup walnut pieces, (optional)

TO GARNISH (OPTIONAL)

1/4 cup walnut pieces

icing sugar, to dust

Method

STEP 1

Preheat oven to 150°C / 300˚F.

Grease the sides of a 26cm / 10 inch diameter cake tin and line the base with baking paper.

Melt butter in a large pot.

Remove from heat and mix in apples and sugar then eggs.
